The Gerer Rebbe in Jerusalem

B"H

After exactly one month, the Gerer Rebbe, Rabbi Yaakov Aryeh Alter, is visiting Jerusalem this Shabbat. It is also the Yahrzeit of the "Pnei Menachem" and this morning, the Rebbe went to the cemetery in order to pray at the grave.

Tonight, there will be a huge Tish at the Synagogue in Yirmeyahu Street. But, unfortunately, Chassidut Gur is the only group, not letting the women join their Tish. I wish this would change !!!

Some Gerer Chassidim asked me to come to the Synagogue tomorrow morning but I had to cancel. This Shabbat I am entirely spending with the Toldot Aharon in Mea Shearim. Tomorrow they celebrate Shabbat Chatan, as a grandson of the Rebbe is getting married next week.

In the middle: The Rebbe of Toldot Aharon, Rabbi David Kahn.

However, the Gerer Rebbe will be back in Jerusalem in another two weeks and for Purim !!!

    Hi Dan,

    You are wrong.:-)
Praying at a grave or for a resting soul at all, including a Yahrzeit, is good to lift up the soul.

It is always good to speak about the good deeds of a dead person, pray or make a Torah teaching in his honour. As I said, the sould of the deseased will be uplifted.

    Have a good week !!!

I LOOK TO FIND BEIT OF KOTZK IN SAO PAOLO,BRAZIL PRIMARY,TO CONTACT THE STUDENTS OF LATE RABBI LEVY BEN MENDEL WHO DIE IN 2000 I THINK OR 2002.
BUT IT IS TO BE OF HELP IF I CAN FIND IN OTHER COUNTRYS CONTACT FOR KOTZK NEAR ME IN EAST EUROPE.
GENERALY I HOPE THAT SOME RABBI IS TO ACCEPT ME AS HIS STUDENT,I DONT KNOW IF THIS IS POSIBLE EVEN.
I HEARD THAT KOTZK WORK AS PART OF GERER DYNASTY,BUT SOME SAY THAT EXSIST AS SEPARATE BRANCH IN SOME COUNTRYS.

    Hi Alexander,

I will ask the Gerer Chassidim I know about Kotzk.

It is right that today, Chassidut Ger and Alexander follow Kotzk.
If Kotzk exist as a separate group ?
I don't know but I will find out as soon as possible and let you know.

Chassidut Gur has a branch in Zurich. At least a small prayer room and some Chassidim. Maybe you can study with them. However, they are a little far away from Serbia.:-)

Gur is the biggest chassidic group in Israel and if you were here, you could probably study with them. They do accept people from the outside, even as group members.
